Scarpa's original Kalipe was so worthy of technical trails that climbers were wearing them for alpine approaches, so Scarpa slapped some Gore-Tex on the Kalipe GTX Approach Shoe to better withstand inclement weather that's constantly inhabiting alpine environments. Waterproofing aside, the Kalipe GTX is still an excellent option for walks to the climbing gym or a nearby bouldering fields. New for the season, the suede upper's rubber rand now has microporous holes for greater flexibility without compromising durability.
