The minimalist-looking Osprey Sopris 30 Backpack is fully featured for backcountry touring up summits or through trees on a powder day. The bigger of the two Sopris Backpacks, it can hold more food and layers for longer tours, or we can cinch it down tight for hot laps before work. The front panel delivers quick access to necessary avalanche gear like a probe and shovel, and the back access allows us to reach the main compartment with skis or a snowboard still strapped to the pack. Osprey fabricated it out of water-resistant materials with snow-shedding padding at the back, shoulder straps, and waist belt.
