Ohlins RXF38 m. 2 Air TTX18 Fork Dual-crown performance in a single-crown package The Enduro trails of today are far more technical and complex than they were just a few years ago. With the introduction of more technical terrain comes the need for more advanced and optimized gear. Enter the Ohlins RXF38 m. 2 Air fork, one of the most tunable and optimized forks in the entire mountain bike market. For the RXF38 Ohlins went back to the drawing board and started with the chassis of the DH38 and RXf36, two forks at different ends of the burlier fork spectrum. They took the lowers of the DH38 and RXF36 and created a bespoke design that incorporates the lightweight design of the RXF36 while also maintaining the incredible stiffness of the DH38. This new design helped make the RXF38 weigh only 200g more than it's much more slender RXF36 cousin. Large 38mm diameter stanchions are one of the key features of the RXF38, these large stanchions are incredibly stiff and improve braking performance, cornering, and overall handling compared to smaller diameter stanchion forks. Better braking, cornering, and handling means you can ride faster and more accurately. Coupled with the updated chassis and 38mm stanchions is the TTX18 damper. This damper is the same as the damper in the DH38 which means you get downhill level performance in an enduro fork. Easy tunability with low-speed compression, low-speed rebound, and high-speed compression adjustments allows you to perfectly tune the RXF38 to ride the way you want it to. The addition of the unique Ohlins three-chamber air spring is a welcome one as not only does it perform extremely well over long descents but you can also easily adjust the progression on the go using just a standard shock pump, whereas most other forks would require you to use volume spacers. The incorporation of the floating axle design reduces friction in the uppers and lowers by preventing the axle from being overtightened, thus causing the fork legs to be compressed inward. The RXF38 truly delivers the performance and stiffness of a downhill fork at the weight of a trail fork making this fork truly a no compromises option.
