In the rush to get the best technology to the most likely race-bike buyers, some manufacturers have a tendency to forget that people, like bicycles, come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes. Fortunately, the folks at FSA haven't forgotten. The FSA SL-K Road Compact handlebar combines race-ready unidirectional carbon fiber construction, a forgiving, shallow design, and four different sizes (including extra-narrow) to bring pro-level performance to all of us. FSA's SL-K Compact Handlebar is made from a blend of unidirectional carbon fiber and Kevlar. Formed in a continuous, one-piece construction, the reinforced carbon design provides a heightened rigidity for explosive sprints and predictable handling. Additionally, the carbon weave dampens road vibration while the Kevlar offers durable strength that reduces material fatigue. The engineered result is simple--the S-LK Carbon handlebar will remain stiffer, longer. These attributes have been further accentuated by the implementation of a double-width single cable groove along the bar. The SL-K's thicker construction also greatly increases its resistance to fatigue. The SL-K Compact Carbon features reinforced and textured clamping areas for the attachment of the levers and stem. This treatment prevents slippage, and helps to maintain the life of the bars. To achieve an agreeable shape, fit for long days in the drops or on the hoods, FSA has designed the S-LK Compact with a moderate 125mm drop, 80mm reach, and 2 degree outward bend. And to ensure a consistent fit and ride quality for every rider, these dimensions vary in scale by each of the three widths available.
