Dan Wesson's Enhanced Compact Pistol or ECP is one of the best bull-barreled 1911's on the market, delivering the quality and performance that Dan Wesson pistols are known for. The ECP's bull-barrel is flush-cut to make disassembly easy, and features a 30 degree crown. The advantage of the bull-barrel design is increased forward weight, which in turn slows down the unlocking and absorbs recoil for comfortable, more accurate shooting. This slender and elegant handgun also features G10 grips, as well as 25 LPI checkering on the front and back straps, offering the user plenty of control over the weapon without being abrasive. To ensure a lifetime of reliable service, the ECP is given a flat wire recoil spring rated for 15,000 round, which is 3 times the round count of a typical 1911's dual recoil spring setup. Other features of the ECP include a brass bead front sight, and a U-notch rear sight. The front sight is made using an old world method that incorporates Naval Brass, giving the front sight better visibility. The U-notch rear sight allows for a better float of the front sight's dot, making front and rear sight alignment easier on the user's eye. The sights on the ECP are made even better thanks to a serrated flattop rib, which minimizes glare between the front and rear sight. In addition, the ECP is equipped with a flat K-style trigger, as well as a square, Commander-style tactical hammer.
